Cat years have a fast first chapter
The FelineVMA 2025 chart puts a one-month-old kitten at about 1 human year, a three-month-old at about 4, and a six-month-old at about 10. At one year, a cat is about 15 in human years; at two, about 24. Each later cat year adds roughly four human years.
We interpolate between the chart’s points. A cat aged one and a half therefore comes to about 19.5 human years. This smooth conversion is a calculator convention, not an exact account of any individual cat’s development. Coverage ends at 25 cat years; we do not extrapolate beyond it.
No known birthday? An estimate is welcome
Use the best years-and-months estimate you and your veterinarian have. An adoption date is not a birth date, but it can have its own celebration in our anniversary tool.
